Bro. Steven Peter Thompson

Hi, my name is Steven Thompson and this is my Testimony.

Last year I lost everything -- my job, my home and my health. I became sick so I went to the hospital. I was on the edge of life or death, every thing the doctors did to try and heal me would not work. I just got worse and worse. I lost my job while I was in the hospital, then I lost my home because I could not pay my rent.

Then one day while I was in the hospital, a nurse asked me if I would like a friend of hers to come and see me, so I said ok. Later that day her pastor of her church came and saw me and told me about Jesus Christ and why I need to be saved. After we talked he prayed with me. Later on that night I came to the Lord in prayer and asked Him to heal me and most of all to forgive me for my sins so that I could be what He wants me to be. Soon after that I started to get better and stronger and slowly my condition improved.

Then the Lord brought me to the Albany Rescue Mission. They helped me with a lot of stuff. They gave me a place to stay where I could be in better fellowship with the Lord and fellow Christians. They help me with my meds when I can’t get them any where else. I work in the office as the office manager. And they give me a little pocket money to help me out. They helped me when no one would or could do any thing for me. I now look back and am more thankful than I have been for any thing before for what the Lord has done for me.

I just want to say that no matter what you have done in your life. All you have to do is remember these five things God wants you to know and He will save you, too!!!!

FIVE THINGS GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW

We are all sinners.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

We all owe a sin debt.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

We cannot save ourselves.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Jesus has already paid our debt.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

We must all get right with God and trust Jesus as our personal savior.

Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 10:9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
